But that quiet absorption was soon to be broken when a woman, with her specific blend of herbal teas and an even more specific need for a particular spot, fixed her gaze on a young man's table.

Working behind the front desk of the garden center, my main goal was always to ensure everyone felt happy and at peace, especially myself. That pleasant calm shattered when a woman in a bright yellow sunhat slammed a rare potted plant onto the counter, insisting its tiny speck of dirt meant it was mine to give away for free.
